The Hiwatt The Custom 20 Guitar Amplifier Head is built around a hand wired circuit based on Hiwatt's original designs by Dave Reeves. Its 20 watt twin EL84 power section can move from clear, open cleans into natural compression and classic overdrive as you turn up the amp and dig into your guitar. The three ECC83 preamp tubes help give the amp its lively response and harmonically rich character.
For 2025, Hiwatt added a Bright switch and a push pull Gain Boost to give players even more control. The Bright switch can add extra sparkle to clean tones or help tighten up driven sounds. Pulling the Gain control activates the boost, adding more thickness and drive to the amp's natural character. Both features work with the High and Low inputs, giving you several ways to shape your sound.
The Custom 20 also keeps things simple with a three band EQ, Gain, and Master Volume. The independent High and Low inputs make it easy to match the amp with different guitars and pickups. Around the back, switchable outputs support 4 ohm, 8 ohm, or 16 ohm speaker setups.
