The Bread Oath is a new product that was launched in January 2023. It is the successor to the Blood Oath Overdrive, which was released in 2016. Unlike its predecessor, the Bread Oath comes with both germanium and silicon clipping diodes by default. This makes it easier to manufacture and stock inventory, while also providing customers with more options.

The Bread Oath features an opamp-based gain circuit that uses symmetric clipping diodes in its feedback path. This creates a tight, tube-like low to moderate gain overdrive tone. The pedal has two sets of diodes - silicon and germanium - that can be toggled using a switch, providing slightly different variations of the core sound.

In addition to the main gain stage, there is a separate gain stage that can be toggled with the left foot-switch. This is ideal for lead parts, providing an extra push. However, the pre-gain stage is in series with the main gain stage and cannot be turned on separately to be used as a boost on its own. The pre-gain stage also has its own gain control.

To avoid creating potentially harsh distortion sounds, a low-pass filter (LPF) has been placed between the two gain stages. This filter shaves off some of the higher-end harmonics from the pre-gain stage.

The Bread Oath is a unique product that is not based on any other overdrive pedal. It is best suited for players who are looking for something original that reflects their personality, rather than familiar classic tones.
