In 2017, the Amaterasu was released when Ground Control was still new but valued simplicity and straightforwardness. It is an opamp-based clean boost circuit that provides just under 18v of amplification headroom. Its main gain stage can increase an input signal up to 26dB across the audio band and is followed by an optional gain stage that can add an extra 12dB of treble, which is tuned to the 3KHz to 15KHz band. The extra treble gain stage can be enabled by switching the Treble switch to the left position or bypassing entirely on the right position. Additionally, the Amaterasu features a discrete jfet input buffer for maximum input signal integrity. It also pairs beautifully with the Tsukuyomi.
Yvette Young, a math rock favorite, used the Amaterasu as the frontend for over four years during tours and in the studio before eventually replacing it with the Noodles. If you're looking to brighten up a darker tone or push your tube amp into "glass" tone territory, the Amaterasu is the perfect choice.

*Do not power with anything other than a center-negative 9VDC power supply. This pedal uses circuitry to double up the 9VDC power supply and you do not want to feed it any more. This kills the pedal and will void the warranty. You will be charged for repairs.
