Gatekeeper Pedal Dirty Haggard Audio
The Gatekeeper is a versatile pedal that combines an octave-down effect with an independent fuzz circuit. The octave-down section is designed to track signals accurately using parallel D-flip-flops to provide greater control. It features a blend knob that allows you to blend your unaffected signal with the octave-down effect, which is perfect for adding thickness to your sound. This section tracks well across most of the fretboard and can produce glitchy chaos with super low notes.
Dirty Haggard Gatekeeper Review
The fuzz section is based on the classic Maestro fuzz but has been modified to reduce noise and add extra grit. This section also features a blend knob that allows you to sweep between the outputs of two separate fuzz stages. The left stage is relatively mild, while the right stage produces a more aggressive, gnarly sound. The blend knob's implementation is a bit unusual, as the two stages are still somewhat out of phase with each other, resulting in a range of interesting fuzz flavors across the sweep of the knob.
Both sections can be activated or deactivated independently using their own footswitch. When both are activated, the octave-down effect feeds into the fuzz circuit. The pedal accepts the standard 2.1mm center negative 9VDC power plug (Boss style) and has a current draw of 32mA for single operation and 58mA for both sections.
