BLAMMO! Electronics Shadderbox Pedal
The Shadderbox is a slightly tweaked and updated version of the Marc Bolan-approved Shatterbox, which is a Zonk Machine mkii (2 silicon transistor fuzz) and a J.H.S. treble booster housed in the same box designed by John Hornby Skewes. The BLAMMO! version slims down the original enclosure by hardwiring both circuits together and removing one of the footswitches while keeping the look and sound intact.
BLAMMO! Electronics Shadderbox Pedal Review
Relay-based true bypass switching has been added to silence any footswitch clickiness, plus a beefed-up power filtering section to cut down on hiss/hum and a polarity protection diode to safeguard against incorrect powering. The toggle switch swaps out the capacitor at the end of the fuzz circuit, adding low frequencies and crunch, giving users two fatter options in addition to the stock setting/value. The base tone is a slightly gated, round fuzz sound with a mid to mid-low emphasis that retains the top end with sizzle-pop. Especially when rolling back the guitar's volume control; this one cleans up really well, nice n' crunchy like.
