AKG C414 XLS Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone Review
The C414 XLS uses a 1-inch edge-terminated, dual-diaphragm capsule designed to maintain the character of the well-known C414 B-ULS. Nine selectable pickup patterns let you adjust how the microphone captures sound, while three pad settings and three bass-cut options give you more control over loud sources, rumble, and unwanted low frequencies. It offers a wide 134 dB dynamic range and can handle up to 158 dB SPL with the pad engaged. The microphone also includes overload detection, a lock mode for its controls, and protection against electromagnetic and electrostatic interference.
