Who is Spector?
Spector is an American brand known for crafting some of the most iconic and beautifully built bass guitars in the world. Headquartered in Long Island, New York, the company continues to build its high-end instruments at its historic Woodstock workshop.

With their smooth curves, rich tones, and unmatched playability, Spector basses have become a favorite among professional musicians and passionate players alike.
History of Spector
Spector was founded in 1976 in Brooklyn, New York, by Stuart Spector and Alan Charney. Working out of the Brooklyn Woodworkers Co-op, they began creating unique instruments that blended craftsmanship with innovation.
Their partnership with designer Ned Steinberger led to the birth of the legendary NS bass, famous for its ergonomic shape and neck-through design. The brand gained worldwide fame in the 1980s when Sting of The Police played a white Spector NS-2 during the Synchronicity tour.

After being sold to Kramer Guitars in 1985, production expanded globally, and later, Stuart reclaimed the Spector name in 1998. Today, under the ownership of Korg USA, Spector Musical Instruments continues to build world-class basses that combine tradition with modern precision.
