Anode Effects Ambergris Pedal Details

The Ambergris is a blend between two of the most famous and earliest overdrives. The 250 and D+ are the two pioneers of the overdrive pedal and now they are blended in one pedal. The 250 is known for its searing treble overdrive and the D+ is known for its more compressed but just as bright overdrive heard on songs like Crazy Train and The Trooper. The gain knob in either setting can be taken from slight smooth overdrive to absolute chaos nearing fuzz.

I found a small stash of the exact LM741 chips used in those original pedals in the 70s. using all NOS components I aimed to create a pedal that is as close as possible to these pioneering pedals. The Ambergris uses a blend of NOS carbon comp and NOS precision resistors as well as NOS Sprague tantalum caps, mylar caps, and silver mica caps. There is a toggle that switches between silicon or germanium diodes so you can get both of these legendary tones. 

Ambergris also uses Lumberg jacks, a Gorva footswitch, and a USA-made PCB.
