Introducing the Flattley Outlaw: A Dual Overdrive and Tone Booster

Flattley Launches The Outlaw: A Dual-Purpose Boost and Drive Pedal

Flattley Pedals has announced The Outlaw, a new dual-function pedal that blends the brand's Ace tone booster with its Plexi-inspired overdrive. Designed as Flattley's first-ever dual pedal, The Outlaw aims to give guitarists a wide tonal palette, flexible gain staging, and instant pedal-order switching, all in a compact form factor.

Two Independent Circuits: Clean Tone Booster + Plexi Overdrive

The Outlaw houses two fully independent circuits, each with its own bypass footswitch.
The boost section is more than a simple clean lift: its dedicated tone control acts as a full tone stack, allowing the pedal to function as a bass boost, treble boost, or transparent volume increase. Set at noon, it keeps the signal flat, but sweeping left adds warmth while sweeping right brings clarity and sparkle.

The overdrive section is an FET-based circuit designed to mimic the harmonic behavior of a 12AX7 tube. It delivers everything from smooth blues breakup to high-energy rock saturation. With Volume, Gain, and Tone controls, players can shape the drive to behave like a classic Plexi-style preamp.

Order Switching Expands the Tonal Range

One of The Outlaw's standout features is its toggle switch that flips the signal order of the two circuits.

  • Booster → Overdrive: Pushes the drive harder for increased saturation, compression, and sustain—perfect for heavier tones or expressive solos.
  • Overdrive → Booster: Lifts volume after the drive, giving players a true solo boost with additional tone-shaping options.

This simple switch dramatically broadens the pedal's range without requiring extra routing or gear, making it a powerful tool for players who want flexibility onstage.

Premium Build and Striking Aesthetics

Housed in a compact 1590BB enclosure (119 x 94 x 30 mm), The Outlaw fits comfortably on most pedalboards while packing dual-pedal functionality. It runs on a standard 9V DC negative-center supply and includes no internal battery option.

Flattley also brings its signature craftsmanship and flair: the pedal features red anodised etched control knobs, matching etched footswitch toppers, red halo light rings, and an eye-catching finish combining red, holographic chrome metal flake, and silver paisley skull hydrographics.

With its tube-style drive, flexible clean boost, and order-switching capability, The Outlaw stands out as one of Flattley's most versatile releases to date, tailored for guitarists seeking both power and precision in a single stompbox.

The Flattley Outlaw is now available on DeathCloud.
